The Second NACEE Conference of Young Researchers
The Second Conference of Young Researchers of the Network of Aquaculture Centres in Central and Eastern Europe (NACEE) will take place at HAKI on 30-31 August 2010.

Aqua-tnet annual event 2010, 2-3 June, Szarvas (Hungary)
This year’s aqua-tnet annual event was an interactive affair giving the network food for thought and direction for the future sustainability of the thematic network.

Visit of the delegation from “Vasile Goldis” University to HAKI

A delegation of “Vasile Goldis” Western University from Arad visited HAKI on 8 July 2010. The Romanian delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Aurel Ardelean rector of “Vasile Goldis” University.

 



The annual meeting of the PESCALEX in Szarvas
This year the annual meeting of the PESCALEX project was held in the Research Institute for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Irrigation between 31st May and 1st June, 2010.

Annual Project Meeting of PESCALEX project to be held in Szarvas

This year Research Institute for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Irrigation will host the yearly meeting of the PESCALEX project (Leonardo Da Vinci Programme) between May 31 and June 1.

Members of the consortium: AMC Dublin (Ireland), AquaTT (Ireland); Stirling University (UK); AQUARK, (Greece); CETMAR (Spain); Rize Technical University (Turkey) and HAKI (Research institute for Fisheries, Aquaculture & Irrigation, Hungary).



AQUA-TNET Annual Event 2010 to be held in HAKI, Szarvas

AQUA-TNET, the Thematic Network in the field of Aquaculture, Fisheries and Aquatic Resource Management, is pleased to announce the AQUA-TNET Annual Event 2010. An unmissable event for those interested in Education and Training

The meeting will be hosted by the Research Institute for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Irrigation (HAKI), situated in Szarvas (Hungary).
 
Registration for partners will open on April 1st. Further information on how to register and an agenda will follow later and will also be published on the AQUA-TNET website (www.aquatnet.com ).



Visit of the Albanian delegation to HAKI

An Albanian delegation of 12 has made a state visit to Hungary for two weeks organized by FAO. Dr. András Woynárovich leaded the group during the whole period. One part of their program was a visit to the Research Institute for Fishery, Aquaculture and Irrigation on 28 September 2009. With the help of listening three presentations they were able to look into past and present of European and Hungarian aquaculture.



Genetics and biodiversity : Consortium on freshwater finfish genetics and breeding
In recognition of the growing body of genetics research pertaining to aquaculture, within the region, NACA together with NACEE (the Network of Aquaculture Centres in Central and Eastern Europe) convened a consultation to discuss the formation of a consortium on fish genetics and breeding, to encourage collaboration and sharing of resources, and to identify and prioritise key researchable issues/ projects on fish breeding and genetic resources management. Right: The consultation was hosted by the Research Institute for Aquaculture No. 2 (RIA 2), Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam 3-4 December 2008.

Satellit workshop on Sturgeons

The workshop was supported by the „Sustainable use of sterlet and development of sterlet aquaculture in Serbia and Hungary” project. (ID. HUSER0602/155). The project is fulfilled in the frame of Hungary-Romania and Hungary – Serbia and Montenegro Cross-Border Co-operation Programme with co-assistance of the European Union and the Republic of Hungary.
